Typical Duties Maintains overdue and circulation records Circulates books and other learning resources -- checking materials in and out, sending overdue announcements and maintaining overdue records; Schedules the use and delivery of audio visual materials and equipment. Schedules the tech labs for teachers. Maintains the library collection including shelving books, periodicals, audiovisual, and other learning resources; reading shelves; adding and withdrawing items; mending and repairing items; Assists with regular inventories of library resources and maintains appropriate records Performs book, periodical, and other media processing including stamping, labeling, filing, cleaning, and mending. Maintains a clean, orderly and attractive environment; assists in the preparation of displays. Collects money for overdue, damaged, or lost library media materials, and keeps a record of money received. Assists students in the selection of books and other learning resources. Assists in the supervision of students visiting the library media center and may supervise and review the work of student helpers. Assists in the selection and ordering of library materials. Helps maintain an orderly and functional library environment conducive to learning. Inputs, modifies, and retrieves data to operate and maintain a computerized, integrated library system. Provides guidance and assistance to students and teachers using the DESTINY computerized system. Requires good customer service/people skills to resolve problems and provide information as requested Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Computer operations, word processing, and data entry Operation of audio-visual equipment Filing and record-keeping procedures Library organization
