Welcome to your library media center! The Robert A. Sills Library is open to AIS students and their parents five days a week.
Hours of operation: Monday – Thursday 7:30 – 17:30 Friday, and any day preceding a holiday: 7:30 – 15:00 The library is closed on all school holidays.
Rules for Using the Library: Middle school students do not need a permission pass to visit the library before school begins in the morning, at break times, during lunch, and after school. Students are, however, expected to use the library during their free time for research, homework, or reading. In order to keep the library resources clean and respect others students at work, the library has a few general rules all students must follow:
No food and drinks are allowed in the library. No cell phones are allowed in the library No games may be played on computers in the library
Loan Periods: There are over 17,000 books as well as more than 50 magazines students may check out from the library. Books and back issues of magazines may be checked out for three (3) weeks and may be renewed once. There is no limit to the number of books a student may check out at one time, but a student may only check out three books on one subject at a time. For example, no more than three fiction books at once time may be checked out. Students with overdue books may not borrow additional materials until the overdue materials are returned. Reference books and current issues of magazines may be checked out for a block, overnight, or over a weekend.
Overdue Materials: There are no late fees for overdue materials, however, report cards and school records will be withheld at the end of the school year until all over due library materials are returned or paid for.
Lost or damaged Materials: Replacement Fees for all borrowers. Students are financially responsible for loss or damage to books checked out in their names. The price of the replacement book + $10 for shipping and cataloging $5 - magazines
Computers: The Library Media Center provides 16 networked computers with Internet access. Student use of computers is limited to educational, school-related activities. Students may not download any material from the Internet unless directed to do so by a teacher or librarian. Playing computer games is prohibited.
Online Library Collections:
The AIS library subscribes to a number of online database collections, including: World Book Online World Book Kids EBSCO Facts on File Facts for Learning CIAO Qestia These subscription resources offer maps, atlases, dictionaries, world almanac, journals and magazines, chronicle of events and news in science, photographs, and graphics, i.e. sources you need for every subject and project.

Parents: · Parents may use the WBAIS Library with no charge. · Parents may check out four books at a time for three weeks. · All books are subject to recall if needed by the school community.
